Being familiar with Mari Iijima's westcoast sound, I feel this was somewhat of a stylistical departure for her, as Silent Love includes much more programming than her previous albums. But she knows how to use it well and to full effect here, especially on the otherworldly dream sequence of Lucid Dreams and the almost video-arcade styled I'm Always With You, which can be seen as kind of a nod to anime. Other favourites of mine include You're the One (That I Love), LA-X (yes, the club of the same name) and my choice for best song of the disc, Is This Love.
