The Musical Magic of Marita Brake
author: John Dunphy
Brake's music embodies the beauty and wonder of the seasons.
These songs harbor the miracle of spring's first crocus peeping through the snow, the gentle melancholy of autumn's last leaves and the glistening majesty of icicles dangling from the trees.
The Road I Took To You contains Brake's interpretations of pop classics such as "Here Comes The Sun" as well as the delightful "Garden Song" a tune sure to strike a resonant note with all of us who plant seeds and nurture their growth.
But check out Brake's original compositions, "Up On The River" "Midwestern Winds" "Country Miles" "The Master and Mahatma" and "Once In A Blue Moon".
She is a treasure among us and somewhat of a secret, but I hope this review changes that.

Inventive music which bubbles and skips brightly along, excellent guitar techniq
author: Heartsong Review
This CD is full of folksy, down home themes about family, love and friendship- such as the playful, yet suggestive, Cook With Honey and Friends Don't Say Goodbye. Brake's guitar instrumentals are inventive and enjoyable, especially, Country Miles, which bubbles and skips along. Her lyrical and, at times, bell like voice combines beautifully with excellent guitar technique!
All create a mood as relaxing and lazy as a country afternoon.
