Album Notes

Born in Chicago (home of Urban Blues), raised in Arizona (winter home of Country music & Canadians), lived in Boston (home of the Red Sox, Fenway & Aerosmith), and now resides in sunny Phoenix,AZ. Along the way, Mark has seen it, lived it, or at least heard rumors about it...whatever it is. And since he was a 15-year-old in his first band, he has written songs about it. Feelings, experiences, and stories are what he captures. The lake in which he fishes is the fabric of our lives. A strong melody line and a sharp hook are the tools of his trade. So go ahead and listen. Listen close enough and you'll soon be caught...hook, line & sinker.

Mark's credits truly defy category. He has worked with the incomparable Producer & Hoodoo Rhythm Devil guitarist John Rewind, Pedal Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame player Bobby Black (Commander Cody, Asleep at the Wheel, Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell), California Country Music Pedel Steel award winner Marty Rifkin, storied studio engineer Rick Winquest, drummer John Hartman (Doobie Brothers, Nicolette Larson, Carly Simon), the late Bobby Hatfield (Righteous Brothers), bassist Dave Bronze (Eric Clapton, Art of Noise, Duane Eddy), vocalist Lezlee Livrano (Ringo Starr, Foxy, Company 'B'), drummer Steve Furgeson (New Radicals), bassist Dave Meros (Eric Burden), guitarist Mick Mashbir (Alice Cooper) and the late, great guitarist & pedal-steel player Eddie Black (Linda Ronstandt, Tracy Chapman), among others too numerous or tedious to mention. Mark was once bandmates with Lowen & Navarro ("We Belong" Pat Benatar). He has played bongos with Harry Dean Stanton and sung "Auld Lang Syne" with Anna Maria Alberghetti at the same party! He once lived in the same apartment building as actress Demi Moore (a real sweetheart). In a light-hearted moment, Mark once found himself singing 'doo-wop' with Director Milos Foreman & cast members on the set of film classic "Big Wednesday" with Gary Busey. Ironically, the impromptu jam took place on a Wednesday. Fate?...who can tell. Mark has also recorded in the same studios as Frank Sinatra, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd, and Glen Campbell...go figure! And played on the same bill as The Plimsoles, Don McClean, and Quicksilver Messenger Service.

Mark Bryson brings a musical suitcase full of surprises on this CD and it's a good thing because it knocked my socks off! I was so revved up over ''NASCAR Man'' that I rotated my tires and ''I Dream You'' made me appreciate my girlfriend and a good nights sleep. 12 Country Hits is a true gem that blends old and new country with just a splash of pop. I can hardly wait to hear the next Mark Bryson CD !

Raise your hand if you remember \'Top of the Morning\' !

12 Country Hits blasts off with the impossibly catchy Nascar Man and then makes stops along the way in Bakersfield, Lubbock and Nashville. This is a perfect mix of old country, pop country, fast and slow. I can't take it off. At the moment my favorites are the ballads (All My Days with Lezlee Livrano is exceptionally pretty) but really all the songs are great. With his movie star looks and pure pop voice, Mark Bryson should go far. I love this CD!
