Album Notes

THE MYTH was composed and recorded in 1985 on an analog tape system. Essentially a collection of demo tracks loosely based around archeological themes. Briefly released at the time on cassette and then discontinued, it never saw the light of day on CD.

Over the years, I have had constant requests to re-release this album. I finally decided to concede to those requests and here is the original, slightly amended album, remastered with present technology. THE MYTH represents an early era in my development as a composer and musician. Stylistically it falls somewhere between instrumental progressive rock and what was soon to be new age.

The predecessor to my first official release, THE MONUMENTS OF MARS, it reveals a perspective of my musical history. This revised limited edition also includes two additional tracks. SPARE ME, MY PHAROAH and a demo version of PYRAMIDS OF MARS. The former was written in 1980 and re-recorded in 2000. The latter was recorded in 1987 and segues into my future works.

THE MYTH is a musical artifact from my past. Although a little rough around the edges, I feel the spirit of the music to be genuine.

I hope you enjoy THE MYTH in that spirit.

Powerful & Uplifting...It's Lush!

'The Myth' is a MIDI guitar Tour-De-Force from the moment you push Start on the CD Player. It's sound is very similar to some of TD's early to late 80's works. But what marks the spot here is the solid production and the arrangement regarding the structure of all songs. It's very powerful and uplifting guitars and bombastic synth work is sure to please many fans of the 'Golden Era' of Electronic music. I loved this disc form the very first time I put it in my CD player. It always takes me on a sonic soundscape journey to scenerey's beyond my imagination. To faraway places I could only see in my dreams. There is a nice mixture of everything on here with something for everybody who likes progressive rock with a touch of New Age/Electronic music and mesmerizing layers of synth effects. It leans towards intrumental rock, so if that's what you like then you're in for a treat with this CD! It's lush...It's melodic...It's got melody hooks...So what are you waiting for? Get this one instantly!!
