Album Notes

Born in London Ontario Canada, Mark Gillick has a background performing in both theatrical acting and currently as a performing songwriter.
Mark spent several years in various California cities studying and performing in plays and for a time worked in television and movies as an extra. There was even a small speaking role in a major movie.
For the past 10 years, Mark has been honing his songwriting skills in Houston where he performs at open mics and other venues consistently.

Marks songs are often described as “story and character driven works” where the listener can see these songs as a short story being told on screen.

“I have been influenced by the type of song and mood that I discovered while listening to Harry Chapin and Gordon Lightfoot. Although each has his own song and way to tell a story, I believe this is how and why I fell into this genre. In recent years, I’ve gained more insight and interest in the Texas singer/songwriter sound which has its own feel but is close to the acoustic folk music that I have always enjoyed. ”

Gillick’s voice has a tone that is prime for folk music and storytelling, and the songs are nothing less than great stories... fabulous singer/ songwriter talent. . lyrics tend to hold you better than most.

Music that anyone can relate to. .. embraces the folk culture and takes you to a gentle place.

…full of earnest and soulful songs delivered with sincerity and highly recommended!
You’ll enjoy.
