Album Notes

All songs on “Breaking All the Rules” were recorded live in the studio
and mixed through analog tube gear. No editing, overdubs or auto tune.
My Gibson, my vocals, my fingers, a few harmonicas and all my
heart and soul are here. Of course exceptions find their way into
anything as did the “summer cricket” on the tune “Life Is Good Brother.”

A year passes slowly when I’m having trouble turning my thoughts into songs. I was beginning to wonder if my hundreds of pages of half-written lyrics would ever come together, when “Whole Damn Town” broke my one year writer’s block…lyrics will tell the story. The rest flowed out on warm summer and cool autumn evenings sitting out on the back porch up on the hill.

My intention is that this album is listened to from front to back in one easily created moment of relaxation, to help you unwind from that crazy day.
