Song Notes:
Various Messianic groups have embraced the songs "KADOSH" and "YESHUA" creating dances to them.
"PSALM 20" - is a blessing from one believer to another a wonderful prayer of encouragement. “May the Lord grant you the desires of your heart... may He meet your every need”... and when He does (and He surely will as you put your trust in Him) “we will shout for joy and lift up our banners, in praise to G-d, when your victorious!“
"HE CARES FOR YOU" - The words to this song are out of the book of Matthew Chapters 7 and 8 in the Bible. I opened the Scriptures and the song just popped out at me. (Many of the songs I write come to me that way. I don't try to write songs its really more like receiving them or finding them) this stretch of Scripture talks about trusting in God. Its the passage that says to "look at the birds of the air they neither sow nor reap yet your heavenly Father takes care of them"... don’t be anxious, not for anything at all... do not worry about your life, etc., and in all of your ways to cast your cares on the Lord because He cares for you and will meet your every need. The day I wrote the song I was in a recording studio. I got excited and put together an 8-track demo that I brought home for my wife to hear. The next day I decided to record a professional more extended version in the studio because it seemed so fresh and alive to me. Just as I was about to record the song my wife called me and told me that the house we were supposed to move into in a few days, had fallen through. Our family had no place to go. Here I am about to sing a song full of "not being anxious for anything," and the Lord puts me to the test. I told my wife she had called me at the "pristine moment in time," and encouraged her to listen to the demo I had recorded the night before and to not be anxious.
The vocal track on the recording is that moment in time. (I had to cut it down as I went on for 10 minutes) Over the next few days I continued to work on the song in the studio. Our friends were concerned asking us where will you move to? What are you going to do? The only thing I had peace about was working on the song "He cares for you." My friends thought I'd gone off the deep end.
At one point while editing I heard a knock of the control room door. It happened just as the lyric "knock and the door will be opened to you," was playing in the song. I opened the door to greet Julie. I had helped her with a recording several weeks earlier at which time I encouraged her to trust herself completely into the Lords care, to seek Him and to be obedient to whatever He told her to do. She had come to tell me of Gods blessings in her and her family’s life since I had seen her last. I encouraged her that God was opening new doors for her and how when she had knocked on my studio door the song was saying, "knock and the door will be opened to you."
I worked in the studio about 12 hours that day and received a call from my wife at about 10 P.M. She told me she had received a call from a fellow she didn't know who offered to have our family live with his family. I called him; it turned out to be Julie's husband.
Julie told her husband about my song and how she knocked on the studio door at the same moment the song mentioned “knocking” and that in spite of not having anywhere to live I was at peace trusting God for our provision and setting my hand to what I believed He wanted me to do.
She and her husband Roger asked God if He would have them help us and felt they should invite us to live with them. My wife and I prayed about it and felt we should move in with Julie and her husband, but that we should stay with them for no more than two weeks.
We moved in with them and within two weeks God opened up another place for us to go. My not being anxious and trusting God paid off. I was at peace... God was exalted... and the song "He cares for you," was birthed in the TRUTH.
"CHRIST IS KING" - is done mostly a cappella ... Bobby McFerrin style. I play a classical guitar for the rhythm and the same guitar through an effects processor for the lead. All the rest of the sounds, bass, other rhythm instruments, etc. are my vocals.
