The amazing collection covers it all: The Blue Room is full of satisfying styles: funky, bluesy, smooth, energizing, stimulating, relaxing. The 8 original Mark Peterson compositions are so fine; the sound is splendid...the album flows!! The hardest thing to comprehend about this collection is that it could actually be a debut effort!! The masterful blend of talent, sound, musicianship, style and class make this one a must have! I have a feeling that wise music lovers will be joining me for many fine listening hours in Mark Peterson's Blue Room.

Very refreshing - full of life.

After purchasing several CDs of bassists playing mostly upright, and most of them using the jazz trio or quartet format (piano, bass, drums, maybe sax), this CD brings an entirely different level of playing and listening experience. Mark's music, to me, not only brings the flavor of jazz basics, but also brings a newness not heard from many of his contemporaries today. Can't wait for the follow-up CD.
