Album Notes

Produced by bass guitarist extrordinaire Kenny Aaronson, this CD is a continuation of Mark Rigg's musical journey through American roots music.

You can hear the Motown in"Three Strikes" and the Memphis in his cover version of the classic "Slip Away". The next track "War Paint Baby", is in a New Orleans second line groove. Then full-out smoking, Chicago blues is next with "I'm Gone" featuring a guest appearance by Jon Paris on harmonica. "I'm Goin Home" conjures up the early grooves of Ray Charles and finally "Who Do You Love Tonight" brings to mind the sound of Tom Waits crossed with Daniel Lanois.

Besides Kenny Aaronson and Jon Paris, Mark is joined by Marty Dunayer - Organ, Dave Donen - Drums, Jim Clouse - Tenor Saxophone, Fred Maxwell- Trumpet, John Farnsworth - Trombone and Jeff Schiller - Baritone Sax. Also appearing on this CD are Rex Benincasa,JorgeAlfano,CharliGiordano,Richard Peck, Walt Szymanski and Barry Olsen.

These musicians have worked with Bob Dylan, Johnny Winter, Mick Taylor, Billy Idol, Frank Sinatra, Alicia Keyes, Barry White, Peter Tosh and others.

Mark Rigg has been playing Blues and R&B for more than 20 years. He has worked with many of the pioneers of R&B, Blues and Soul music, as well as leading his own group. He works extensively in the US and Europe.
