This new CD release won't go back on the shelf anytime soon! Welcome to "Return to Melody", a pedal steel guitar instrumental, by Wisconsin steel player Mark Wayne, who studied since 1985 under Eddie Rivers, steel player with 9-time Grammy Winning band Asleep at the Wheel. Mark started playing pedal steel and dobro at the age of 12, accelerating to love and emulate the immortal greats of steel guitar: Buddy Emmons, Lloyd Green, Curly Chalker, Alvino Rey, Jimmy Day, and others, to eventually form his own style.

Mark has also played on several nationally charted songs reaching as high as #5 on the Christian Country Music Association's top 100, and has accomplished national recognition as a pedal steel guitarist. He has teamed up some outstanding players to accomplish this CD, with you, the steel guitar enthusiast, in mind :)

The genres on this album reach into Jazz (Donna Lee by Charlie Parker), Big Band (People Like You and Me by Glenn Miller), Gospel (Amazing Grace), Hawaiian, Country (Annie’s Song by John Denver), Western Swing (Steakhouse Rag by Mark Wayne), and even Funk styles are expressed on this album with the pedal steel (yo' man :)), as well as several vocal songs (like Buck Owen’s Above and Beyond). In total the listeners attention will be kept, so we believe that this investment would be a CD that’s listened to more just one time and not put on the shelf… How many of us has had those?
