Marlana VanHoose is a very unique little lady. Born with Cytomegalovirus, a virus believed to have caused me to be totally blind. Diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy, I stopped growing at the age of 9. The Doctors didn't expect me to live after one year, but God had other plans.
Before I could talk, I was humming “Jesus Loves Me.” Started playing the piano at age 2.
My parents knew before I was a year old that music was my passion and that God had placed a special anointing on me. I started singing at different churches at the age of 9.
God has blessed me with some awards, including two 2012 AMG Heritage Awards “Youth of the Year” and “New Artist of the Year,” through the Artists Music Guild in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Also, being nominated for the 2013 AMG Heritage Award “ Youth of the Year.”
I asked God to come into my life at the age of 12 and have been a very faithful Christian who loves to minister in word and music.
I have played the piano and sung at a very young age, but I had a hard time doing them together.
Some churches I visited would want me to do a 30 minute show, but I've had trouble with my feet and legs due to the cerebral palsy and has trouble standing that long. So at the age of 13, someone gave me a nice keyboard and I practiced a lot playing by ear. I can play almost anything after hearing it once or twice. God made a way for me to sit and sing.
My many different challenges are just everyday life skills to me. I have no complaints about any challenges. God always gives me a testimony. One thing that I say is, “I don’t want to see on this earth. I’ll see when I get to Heaven.”
I hope and Pray that GOD Blesses you and your family, and THANK YOU for taking time to read a little bit about me and what God has blessed me with.
