Marooned
The first CD from Marooned brings with it many olde favorites while bringing Marooned to a new audience. This CD takes many songs that you might have heard in a pub 300 years ago (or even in the right pubs today) and adds just the right number of sea shanties to make it truly fit as a sailor's night on shore.
Marooned are the proud to have won two "Rennies". The first was in 2006 for Best Music Group and the second in 2007 for their new CD "Better Than Live" in the catagory of Best New Album.

Great first album
author: AngeloWith so many great songs to choose from, I believe this album is a wonderful introduction to shanty. I will be on the look out for a second and third album.

author: DanielleHas many of my favorite songs on it, if your into great music buy this cd..no really buy THIS cd...NOW!!....:)
Awesome!!!!
author: CarrieThis Cd is great...good songs, well sung with a high amount of energy. Easy to listen to and will inspire you to want to see with them, loudly in the car with the windows up. I highly recommend this CD and can't wait for the next one to come out.
Impressive! Fun! Not at all full of coconuts.
author: ZiZThis is a phenomenal CD by a group of people with talent, beautiful voices, and a highly tuned musical relationship with eachother. Companion, in particular, is a rousing, rollicing sing-along song, and Barley Mo is the finest example of lyrical dexterity I've ever heard. Absolutely one of the staples of my musical collection.
Bob, Bob, Bob'n along singin' a song...
author: Brother BearThis CD is addictive. About every 2 or 3 weeks I seem to find it back in my CD player and I'm ALWAYS singing along. Marooned's voices are amazing, the strength of Bob's massive baritone and Jen's lilting soprano are well supported by the rest of the crew. I'll agree that there are some technical problems, but once you're singing along with this CD you'll forget about them.
Great listening.
author: CherylThis album is but the start of these talented performers work, at least I hope to hear more from this group. It's obvious they enjoy themselves and want to bring you along on their journey.
Most Wonderous Well...
author: Brook RMarooned first CD is hopefully not thier last. An excellent mixture of songs the cd moves well and keeps the same feeling that Marooned give in their live shows. The performance displays emotion and even a little fun with Constipated Men at the end. The mixing is not as good as it could be, and the microphones are not the best, but these are issues for technicians. Marooned is excellent at thier craft and a joy to hear. And I genuinely hope there is more to come.
Real voices entice
author: Diva GypsyThis is one of our favorite road trip CD's to put on and sing our hearts out to. (Just pretend your Mountain Dew is a beer and you'll do just fine.) Classic sea shanties and irish folk tunes sung by talented voices who know how to do them justice. Highly recommended.
Faire's Fantastic Four
author: Age Of ChivalryCompanion and Barley Mo are my personal favorites, although they are all great. Their voices compliment each other very well, and they have a wonderful sense of pace and timing. Above all, this CD is an awful lot of fun!
Much better than "Cats!"
author: Bryan RSome great old favorites (and I mean Olde!) pop up on this CD, rendered with loving care in the sea's deep rich melodies of Bob Brinkman, the strong dark stout notes of Keenan, the enticing siren's song of Jen and the seagull's harmonies of Lenora. My only complaint is that there are only 11 tracks.
If you've ever wanted a time machine
author: Anthony MooreThis CD is alomst a time machine. It's filled with great songs that just beg for you to learn the lyrics and sing along. It's an ideal CD for anyone who an appreciation for good old fashioned singing. From the first to the last, it's about as close to authentic olde tymes as you can get and not have an actual time machine.
A perfect addition for any pirate's treasure trove of tunes!
author: JamieFrom the rousing lyrics of "Companion", through the hilarity of "Constipated Men", to the haunting refrain of "Black Velvet Band", Marooned demonstrates their ability to both enchant and entertain their audience. Whether you are new to this music genre or a longtime fan, this CD belongs in your collection. And I dare ya to keep up with the Captain and Hannibal on "Barley Mo"!
