Album Notes

marQue (pronounced mar-Q) serenades with his haunting melodies and angst-laden lyrics in his acoustic guitar driven debut album, "Conflicting Memories." Ranging stylistically from acoustic folk to rock to soul, this self-recorded and self-produced album gives us a glimpse into the artist. "Living is the inspiration for my expression."

REVIEWS

Intimate and special.
author: T. Lemire
I got the album after hearing him play live on accident while in Oregon. He was playing a lot of reggae and soul music live so I got the album. It was a shock when I heard this album since it was much slower than what I had heard him play live. I see this album is from 2003 so I guess it's his old stuff. I didn't like it first, but after listening over and over, man it grew on me! It's some intimate and special stuff on here. I look forward to hearing his new stuff, but yo, this old stuff is real good. I am glad I got it.

A True Artist.
author: Cindy Su
I ordered the CD after watching him play live. He is a true artist and this album shows him at his most naive and innocent. The songs are pure and the production sparse. His pain is addicting. A great first album for a future heavy. I couldn't believe he did the whole album in his bedroom studio.

A very nice first CD.
author: Showtime
I saw him play in SF opening for a national touring artist. Awesome! Bought the CD and listened to it over and over. Very nice pure music. Not overproduced or overdone. Simple with a truthful message about life. Was hoping to see he had a new one. But not yet I guess. Hope to see the new one soon. This one is good!
