Album Notes

Devoted to all types of music especially sounds of the previous generation singer/songwriter Justin Marra formerly known as SHADES has transformed his introspective journal entries and electric garage band tunes into a fresh folky upbeat sound reflecting the influences of classic singer songwriters like Billy Joel, Harry Chapin, Bob Dylan, Carol King and the harmonica of Junior Wells.

Though not his first album, MUSE is his first adult release. Since his focus has shifted to acoustic expression Justin's performances have become socially conscious, mature and appealing to a larger audience. Raised in Rhode Island, teaching high school in Massachusetts this young professional is finally able to devote more time to spreading his music beyond the coffee houses of Providence and Worcester. Four years after the release of Raised By Hippies the much promised, and long awaited second studio release from Justin Marra is finally here. Muse captures a new sound and direction for the artist. While topical in some places (How Much Longer, Stumbling In The Blind) Muse has a personal side (Thank Ya', No Second Chances, Life In The Grey,) and provides a window into the life of a modern day singer song writer struggling to get "it" right. "A little wiser," as No Second Chances professes, and certainly with a sense of humor Muse delivers.
