Album Notes

Hathor's Sister believes that nature should be befriended. When we surround ourselves with natural beauty or uplifting elements, they complement and balance our lives, thus invoking a presence of well-being. Such an environment, filled with music and objects of art which inspire us, will improve our disposition and our health. We aspire to create music that has this affective potential.
Art and nature have been intertwined throughout history. The symbolism of four elements pervades both. These archetypes are imprinted on the human consciousness. We are deeply moved by them. We have a fascination with symbolism, which largely shapes our internal process. The element of mystery prevails in our work. Our creative process is a life long search using the language of art and music to explore the depth of the enigma called life. For Hathors Sister this is a metaphysical exploration.
Marta and Nina work in many media. Hathor's Sister is a collaborative project which adapted some of Nina Pak's poetry for musical compositions created by Marta Wiley. It is an experiment with voice, using mantras; and various instruments and objects to make sound, Which brings an unusual, haunting flavour to the music. Vocals are by Marta Wiley and Nina Pak, with an occasional guest performer.

This cd keeps getting better at every listen. Layers of sounds steeped in meaning stay with you through the day. Every aspect of this cd is in perfection. The chants that break into singing, and the haunting quality of the back drop of instruments... I have listened to this more times than I can count, and truly it just gets better!

Do yourself a favor...buy this!
author: Kristen
This is much more than a cd full of songs. It's a gauzy, lacy abstraction that pulls you into a web of mysticism. The music is alluring and the vocals are enticing. The music truly elevates your state of consciousness. Do yourself a favor and buy this cd...you won't regret it!
