A fun bunch of songs. Growing up playing guitar in Texas, a kid in the sixties and seventies is exposed to a huge range of music, from Townes Van Zandt at the Old Quarter and Bill Staines at Sand Mountain, to country music on KIKK and R&B on KCOH. Not to omit big band performances in the park, or the series of great performances at Liberty Hall, like Mose Allison and David Bromberg. And don't forget the Austin scene, from Hole In The Wall, Split Rail, and Armadillo Beer Garden, where the music ranged from Ramblin Jack Elliot and Bill Monroe to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Asleep at the Wheel. There was too much to remember. Like front row for Doc Watson singing "If I Needed You" for the first time, about 73 at the Texas Opry House. Townes was in the audience and was very emotional about it. Every show and song is not remembered, but they are all absorbed. The cover is of Tent Rocks, near my home in the Jemez Mountains of Northern New Mexico.
