Singer Songwriter
Born in Tacoma Washington, and moved to New Jersey at the tender age of three, she grew up in a small town, Flemington NJ where Christine Martucci was destined to be a singer songwriter.
She grew up with music all around her. "our family was like the Partridge family, every Sunday after dinner my Dad said get the instruments and Bam! We were all jamming!" God I loved that"..."one Christmas when I was nine my Dad bought me a Fender Strat..I was like wow, what the heck am I gonna do with this?"
Make Music! and music she did!
Christine has a diverse unique singing voice, plays guitar and writes her own songs.
She has been playing out professionally now for over 10 years, and each time she goes on stage it is with more energy and pizzazz then the last!
This is a true Rock and Roll performer, her influences range from Tina Turner, Bessie Smith, Aretha Franklin, to the Rock styling of Janis Joplin!
"I want people to walk away from my shows and be like-WOW! what the heck just happened I think I've been galvanized!"
"I WANT MORE!!!!"
Press:
When I first heard her sing I thought Janis (Joplin) had come back to life. And Christine writes her own songs too. I predict great things ahead for this newcomer." Tigermix.com

author: Paul WatkinsOK, so maybe I'm a bit biased since I know Christine Martucci, but I know what I like from my music and I know I like this. From the opening rabble-rouser Can You Feel It? this CD transports you to front-of stage with the artist and her band such is the immediacy and spontaneity of the musicianship. It's rock 'n roll people, make no mistake, and I can't get this out of my CD player at all. If 'Tucci ain't real huge real soon, then there's something real wrong with the music biz.
CHRISTINE MARTUCCI'S "MAMA SAYS"
author: Jed RyanCHRISTINE MARTUCCI'S "MAMA SAYS" The first track on "Mama Says", the debut CD from New Jersey singer/songwriter Christine Martucci, is "Can You Feel It". With flawless guitar work, a permeating rhythm, and Martucci's passionate and no-nonsense delivery, the song is everything a rock anthem should be. As the listener soon learns, with "Can You Feel It", Christine Martucci sets a high standard for her music right in the beginning, and carries it right on through the rest of the CD. "Can You Feel It" is only one of a batch of tracks on "Mama Says" with a strong, high-energy, stripped-down, strictly music-and vocals sound. Other instant rock standouts on the CD include "Hearts on Fire" and "Full Steam Ahead". Yet Martucci reveals a softer side of her persona, as well as a wider vocal range, with such tracks as "Home" and "Wings". Martucci and her blues-rock band clearly have their heart in the timeless genre of classic rock (with perhaps just a touch of country flavor), with Martucci's clear influences being similarly tough-and-sexy female rockers Janis Joplin and Melissa Etheridge. To be a bona fide woman of rock and roll, you must possess a powerful voice-- to be able to, shall we say, belt. But there's gotta be more than just screaming your lungs out. Underneath the high volume, the lyrics, the energy, and the sweat, there has to be soul, realness, and meaning behind the music. To say that Christine Martucci connects personally with her listening audience is an understatement. In both her live performances and on her CD (I've had the privelege of hearing Ms. Martucci live as well as on disc), she surrenders herself to her listeners, and relinquishes some degree of control to her loyal rock subjects. Yet at the same time, she also dominates that audience with her music. It's no accident that listening to "Mama Says" has almost the same effect as seeing Ms. Martucci's live show. This reported musical perfectionist has stated, "I wanted an album that would sound exactly like I sound live." Note how I say "almost". If you catch Christine Martucci in concert, you'll see that she epitomizes the way a rock and roll chick should LOOK as well as SOUND: she's ballsy AND sexy, imperious AND endearing... all at the same time. After the rousing opener "Can You Feel It", Martucci's style turns sexy and slightly playful-- but no less self-assured-- with "Hearts on Fire". The song is unambiguously about pure lust and desire, with lyrics and vocal delivery that's as feverish as the title suggests. "Life", the third track (and my favorite), with lyrics like "Hey, can't pay my rent anymore... Hey, the landlord's knockin' at my door... Not too bright, 'cause I spend my money on what I like... All alone tonight." is ostensibly a song about youthful abandon, with a realness that more fabricated artists couldn't pull off if they tried. Despite traces of 20-something angst, the energetic song couldn't be further away from the slacker-generation grunge tunes of the early '90's. "Life" also boasts some of the finest guitar riffs you're likely to hear anytime soon. "Release Me" has a heavier tone to match its subject matter: the torture of unrequeited love (Boy, can I relate!). This is love Christine Martucci's way, baby. And being a woman of rock and roll, you know you can't mess with her feelings and get away with it, either in love or life in general. Just listen to "No More Draggin Me Down" if you don't believe me. "Wings", about lingering feelings after the breakup of a relationship ("But my wings are broken now... I can't fly anymore... So many words unspoken now... My heart's lyin' on the floor."), is romantic and soulful, revealing the singer's vulnerable side. It's a superior showcase for Martucci's vocal range. Christine Martucci isn't afraid to tackle some provocative subjects on "Mama Says". She adopts a gentler vocal style in the weighty, war-themed "She Don't Know". With genuinely empathetic lyrics about the oft-forgotten victims of war-- the loved ones of soldiers-- the song couldn't be more timely. "Home", the most sentimental-- and likely most personal-- song on the CD, is an ode to her departed father ("Oh Daddy, it's time to come on home..."). It's intensely emotional and heartfelt, but it's also spiritual and uplifting, offering the hope that we all go to a better place in the end: "Angels are calling for your presence... Stars are saying they're all alone." The song also reveals a more delicate side to her vocal delivery, but doesn't fall too far from her strong musical persona. Christine Martucci leaves us off with "Love Circles", a classically simple guitar-and-vocals only song about-- what else?-- love. Like the song itself, the message in "Love Circles" is simple: When it comes down to it, love simply happens between two people... and it can be ANY two. If there's a theme running through "Mama Says", it's about transcendence, escapism, and freedom: freedom from the pain of loss, freedom from the heartache of love gone wrong, and freedom from the restraints of a sometimes dispiriting society. Most of all, when we listen to "Mama Says", we learn that we can escape from the stresses and strains of everyday life through music. Listening to Christine Martucci and her band, it's clear that they genuinely enjoy making music as much as the listener will enjoy hearing it... which, you'll agree, will be VERY much.
