ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"...one of the best new music artists in Madison."
-The Isthmus

"Madison singer-songwriter Marty Finkel's new album, The Good Life, proves that Finkel's mostly very good at sounding like a nice guy. That sounds like something to take for granted, but consider how many dudes with guitars try sounding friendly and end up coming off like schmaltzy hams. Songs like "Love Is Blind" and "Under The City Lights" put a pleasingly straightforward face on good-natured young-manhood, touching up Finkel's acoustic pop with tasteful banjo and mandolin. The record also occasionally throws in some accordion, harmonica, glockenspiel, piano, and cello, always just a little at a time, fitting nicely behind Finkel's easygoing vocal melodies. If anything, he could be a little less shy, but humility works in his favor."
-The Onion
