I had so much fun making this record. I wanted to bring a different energy level this time, some bigger tracks and a little different production approach. I hope with all my heart that you (and your horses) feel the intention and love that went into this music.

There are very few people in this world whose lives have not been irrevocably changed by a relationship with an animal. This newest release by Mary Ann, "The Rhythm of the Ride" celebrates horses and the animals we love. From her ranch in Tennessee, Mary Ann sees, breathes and feels the strength of nature, the communication between and among horses and animals and converts both to lyrics, music and arrangements with amazing clarity. It captivates the listener.

Mary Ann has 20+ years of traditional success in the country and pop fields. She has worked with Emmy Lou Harris, Sting, Art Garfunkel, Reba McEntire, Patty Loveless, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Restless Heart, LeaAnn Rimes and Pam Tillis, among others. Her first grammy nomination was for her single, "Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands," recorded by Lee Greenwood and Reba. Restless Heart's "I'll Still Be Loving You" earned a second grammy nomination for Mary Ann and co-writers Pam Rose and Pat Bunch.

What a wonderful gift of music and heart that Mary Ann brings to us all. I came across The Trail Less Traveled at a Horses and Yoga retreat I was leading in Tennessee, and fell in love with her music instantly.  She has spunk, clarity, tenderness, and, of course, love.  She sings what I know we, as animal lovers, must all feel.  Thank you, Mary Ann.  I hope our paths cross--  it would be an honor and a delight!

...what a natural high!!!  As an ex-cop and survivor of trauma, Mary Ann's work has helped my healing move so much faster. Her lyrics and melodies mesh into my days with my horses so easily.  "Tennessee" touches me very much, as I own Tennessee Walkers and have seen what the "money-maker owners of the big-licks" do to their horses....disgusting (is politically correct).

Mary Ann, you are truly blessed...as I've said before; "keep 'em comin'" and Miigwetch!
