ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In 1976 I went to the former Yugoslavia for two and a half years on a Fulbright Scholarship in ethnomusicology. Since that time I have been involved with many groups both here and abroad teaching the wonderful
music of these peoples. Much of the music on this CD I collected while living
in the former Yugoslavia. Other songs I have learned from commercial recordings or from refugees. Most of the songs were arranged to be sung
by various ensembles and community choirs that I conduct in Vermont and Massachusetts. Access to this music has become more difficult and my aim
was to share my love of these songs with others through this recording
and its companion book of transcriptions.
