Mary Fettig's career as a saxophonist/flutist hit the international arena at the tender age of 20 when she was asked by Stan Kenton to be the first woman instrumentalist in his groundbreaking big band. She has since continued a diverse recording and touring career, including stints with such greats as NPR’s Marian McPartland, Latin legend Tito Puente, and Brazilian icons Flora Purim and Airto Moreira.
She has recorded numerous albums in her career including her debut on the Concord Records label, "In Good Company", with Marian McPartland, Ray Brown, Peter Sprague, and Jeff Hamilton.

"Relativity" is a family affair. Her brother, Wayne Fettig, composed most of the tunes and plays piano. Her son, Scott Thompson, provides support on acoustic and electric basses, with her husband, Eric Thompson, playing drums.

The music of "Relativity" is a collection of jazz styles from swing to Brazilian, funky, and ballad styles.
