Album Notes

I am a singer/songwriter since the age of 12 and have composed over 70 songs. I am also a minister and teacher who has been on long-term disability for almost 20 years. I have a high folk singing voice and accompany myself on the guitar. I often have written songs when certain stories or events have moved me to respond. I first learned about Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover from my son, Jesse Anderson, when he was an intern for the Springfield Institute in Massachusetts in the summer of 2009. Carl was tortured with endless anti-gay bullying at his school, even when his mother pleaded for help from school officials several times. This young man was not even gay. He hung himself in April 2009. In January 2010, in a town only 20 minutes away from Carl's home, 15 year old Phoebe Prince, an Irish immigrant girl, hung herself after months of bullying in school, on the internet and in text messages. It is my hope that my song will speak for them in the cause of ending bullying.
