Album Notes

Mary Murphy makes a connection with her audience, often interacting with humorous anecdotes and improvisation while performing concerts, dinner shows and private parties throughout New England.

(She travels to other musical destinations as feasible.) Delivering soulful vocals, she accompanies herself on piano, keyboards and guitar with some blues harmonica solos for good measure.

In addition to her originals, material performed live includes various covers of standards, pop, blues, a little classic country, folk, plus some Celtic and French tunes from the 17th century to present day.

Mary Murphy's (self-produced as "Murmade Productions") album, "Music For All The Good Lads & Lasses" is a varietal mix of original folk, blues, rock and more.

Celtic overtones can be heard in her soprano voice on "Holding On To You", "Justify", "You" and "Heavenly Father", a wedding song.

She belts out a rollicking blues on "Hiding In The Dark" then walks you at a comfortable pace from jazz to folk with "Essence of Eden", "To Sacramento" and "Around You".

"Midnight Dream" takes you to a tropical paradise where you can visualize and relax.

The quick-paced instrumental, "Minutes" picks you up only to lull you into the eerie a capella "Song For Moose".

(Artists note: The title comes from when I actually sang this tune to moose as sited in Maine and New Hampshire.

They were a good audience and wouldn't leave until I uttered my last tone)

The ageless "Music For All The Good Lads & Lasses" belongs in the home of everyone who loves musical variety.

This album will grace, even fortify the library of the most descriminating indie music collector.
