A fresh face on the modern rock scene, Mary's Eyes made the move from Central Virginia to Atlanta in early 2001. Inspired by bands like Led Zeppelin, Train, U2, The Black Crowes and Collective Soul, Mary's Eyes combines outstanding lyrics with soaring melodies and grooves that stick in your head.
It wasn't long until Mary's Eyes started making a splash on the local scene. In July 2001, the band won the Atlanta portion of the Hard Rock Café/Rolling Rock Town Fair 2.0 competition, and placed third in the nationwide internet voting. This year, Mary's Eyes will be showcasing at the Atlantis Music Conference on Saturday, August 3rd. Their new release, "Honestly," came out June 29th with a CD release party at the Hard Rock Café in Downtown Atlanta.
Mary's Eyes is Justin Land (lead vocals, guitar), Ben Snider (guitar, violin, vocals), Joe Thibodeau (drums, loops), and Matt Dashner(Tastee Bass guitar).

Stands apart from the current vocal trend.

There are 4 hit singles on this ep.This is a nice change from the coarse, gutteral vocals and dark moods
dominating much of rock today.Lead singers voice has some texture that doesn't overwhelm the band's sound and allows the awareness of a slight change of style within some of the songs. They show versatility without it coming across as disjointed and fragmented. That's something that's hard to do on a full length disc much less a 4 song ep.

This is an excellent album with deep, moving, captivating lyrics and rocking riffs. I've heard the previous Marys Eyes albums although those were very good this one shows their artistic maturity and defines them as one of the top unsigned bands around. A definate score for the Atlanta based band.
