Album Notes

Influences from Steely Dan, Tom Waits, the Band, Dylan, Billy Joel, Harry Neilson and The Beatles to Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Jimmy McGriff and onward..
City slick meets hillbilly soul and goes hippy hopping thru pastures of multicolored Amercana Rock on a nobby tired green bike. Sometimes smooth, sometimes bumpy, but always thinking and chasing the winds right down to the waterhole.
So get the patchouly, dim the lights and sit back and enjoy this musical journey you've stumbled upon.
Mascot's Distance is a Jordon Rothstein's project and his debut album.

REVIEWS

Great album
author: Sitarcat
I love this album. My favorites are "Elsa Lied Again", "Dance By The Water", "The Date Song", "All That I Had Coming", and "My Best Friend", the last of which is a great example of superb songwriting skills. The Steely Dan influences are very apparent to me, but this is fresh new ground. Looking forward to many more songs from these folks.

A fresh modern retro sound that brings you back to where you made a wrong turn
author: Evan Vinny
Mascot's Distance's debut album gives us a sigh of relief that there is still music with integrity being created. That the craft of songwriting is still honored, even in today's mostly vapid musical landscape is something to celebrate. Applause and thank you to songwriter Jordon Rothstein and the rest of the musicians who contributed to this album.
