Album Notes

This is the second volume of a great night in North Beach, San Francisco. The band, with leader/tenorist Sonny Lewis (Formally with the Whispers) vocalist Melody Anne, famous for her work with her father, Jack 'Jive' Schafer, Tim Ross on piano, Michael Bacile on Bass and Jack Dorsey on drums. Just a group of pros, together for one Halloween night. We did pick up more gigs after this, but I think this was the first night together, and it sounds like we've been together 20 years! Rob Catterton did an excellent job of recording us with just four mics on the bandstand. It was just meant to be. If you've already checked out vol.1, you're going to love this too. You might as well buy both volumes, as Sonny is retired, and everyone else has gone in a different direction. So this is one of those 'once in a lifetime' offers. Don't miss out.
