“A true American songwriter on the brink of her solo career, Mash McLain sings our stories with a voice that lures you down into the sea of human emotion and then holds you there a little too long.”
Mash McLain was born on July 1st, 1979 in Oklahoma City and grew up along the Jersey Shore. She began playing music at the age of 7. Moving to New York City after high school, Mash was the lead guitar player for the all female pop new-wave group P.I.E, named one of Go Magazine’s top ten music picks of the year, sharing the pages with names such as Melissa Etheridge, KD Lang and the Gossip. She was frequently seen playing in venues such as CBGB’s, Meow Mix, and Luxx, as well as hitting up the college circuit and performing at the hottest parties throughout Manhattan and Boston.
After a number of years in the city, Mash found it unsatisfying and ultimately decided to go back to her roots; closer to the ocean and the quiet of the shore. After a period of solace and serious song- writing, Mash has been busy performing live at NJ legendary stages such as The Paramount Theater, The Saint, and The Stone Pony. She’s also been busy recording her solo debut album, “Trail of Tears” EP; a heart wrenching cry of political injustice, addiction, lost love and coming home. Each song a delicate masterpiece, Mash reminds us of a time when music was poetry…in motion; timeless.
