Album Notes

Hey!...Andy Mason here to write a few notes about "Everybody Likes Pizza". I have been truly taken aback at the reception this album has received. It seems that I have a minor hit on my hands. The album itself is very simple, just a guitar and vocal on all the tracks and it was recorded in one day at the Johnny Mulhair Studios in Clovis, NM....carrying on the rich tradition of recorded music in New Mexico. My favorite song is the Burrito Song....or How to Make a Burrito. The kids at the pre-schools who urged me to write a song about a burrito can take some credit for this song. It is goofy, but a lot of fun!.......I'll add some more individual notes about each tune in a day or two....thanks for stopping by and checking out my music.

Hey!....back again. Sorry it took me so long. I have been busy playing in schools and libraries and getting more copies of "Pizza" made. I have truly been blessed by this CD. I am having SO much fun playing to the 4th and 5th graders in the Roswell, NM schools. It is such a joy sharing music with children. I have had some requests for lyrics which I will try to honor soon. I'll either post them here or on my website www.fasttimeconstant.com/andymason Anyway, I promised I'd write a few more notes about each song so here goes.

"Everybody Likes Pizza" popped into my head one day while I was teaching High School in Portales, NM. I remember it was a February morning when the melody and chorus came to me. From there adding the rest of the verses was easy. As easy as a Pizza Pie! If you want to start a conversation with a stranger ask them what kind of pizza they like. 99.9% of people like pizza so your chances of getting a response are very good!

"You Can Be Anything (If You Try)" When I was a kid I remember telling people I wanted to be a motorcycle man...what exactly a motorcycle man does or how much he gets paid remains a mystery to me, but I have learned that this is a great question to ask kids. When I ask kids what they want to be when they grow up they give such amazing answers that I never get tired of asking. I have a picture of myself on the front page of the Portales News Tribune playing guitar and singing. I share this picture with the kids and I tell them that if I can be what I want to be....they can too. Good thing I decided that I wanted to be a singer and guitar player!
