Album Notes

Julia Massey has been recording music since her first acoustic album "Brains in Bubbles" in 2005. This was briefly interrupted by a year long hiatus from writing during her first 9 months in the classroom in Bedford-Stuyvesant. During her second year in NYC, Julia created "Moons & Stars Convene" with Craig Levy, her first online release.

Her latest recordings, "OUT" came to fruition with three of her friends from college; Jordan Kenning, producer, Mike Johnston, audio engineer, and Knute Sands, percussion, in Chicago, November 2008. Many others helped to make this EP possible, as you'll see on the in sleeve when you open the CD.

Of course, Julia's songwriting began at a much younger age when, in the climbing tree in her front yard, she'd sing impromptu songs about the animals, people, and everyday things she observed. As you'll find on "OUT", not much has changed. This time, however, she's matured with the experience of "The Break Free Project" and other talented co-writers and musicians.

Now based out of Seattle, Julia plays cosmic-folk-rock with her band "The Five Finger Discount" for their beautiful, supportive fans. Look for their upcoming release this year.
