Album Notes

bryan spent the majority of 2004 recording this sophomore effort. as the case with his debut, he performed almost every sound on the record, delivering songs centrally grounded in how the 'simple' art of communication affects relationships - relationships with others, with oneself, and with the world around us. released in the fall of 2004, incommunicado is evidence of growth in both song-writing style and musical direction. bryan continues to tour both solo and with backing band in support of the new album.

bio
bryan master truly illustrates what it means to be a singer-songwriter - enjoying the freedom of crossing supposed musical boundaries and having the guts to blur lines through a range of passionate topics. this 27-year-old multi-instrumentalist blends an eclectic mix of rock with the melodic world of pop. from quiet and haunting to edgy and raw, bryan pulls from a myriad of influences to create songs that are a little of everything - but always intriguing and catchy.

with long blonde hair and his quirky upside-down, left-handed guitar-stylings, this troubadour has spent the last four years traveling back and forth between new york city and los angeles writing, recording and performing at some of the top clubs on both coasts. bryan independently released his sophomore effort, incommunicado, in the fall of 2004.

growing up in a south jersey suburb of philadelphia, bryan was studying the trumpet and piano by the age of eight...his first drum set soon followed. with every spare adolescent moment, he taught himself the art of percussion. in 2000, after five years as drummer for new york city band 'mother bacchus', he left the band and began playing city venues as a solo, acoustic act. his passionate live sets, catchy songs and thoughtful lyrics immediately began attracting audiences.

bryan independently released his debut album, lost at sea, in 2003. the culmination of a quarter century's worth of life experiences, the title alone sums it up - a collection of songs about being young, coming of age and feeling 'lost at sea'. the majority of the recording took place in los angeles with bryan performing nearly all of the instruments himself - drums, piano, guitar and vocals). recording in acclaimed hollywood studios cello and studio 56, he attracted world-class musicians such as renowned bassist phil chen, who lent his talents to the project. with stand-out tracks 'reunion of sorts', 'now or never'and 'bring out the stars', cuts from lost at sea have won songwriting contests and received national radio airplay.

REVIEWS

Incommunicado
author: Margaret Andersen
Bryan Master - his last name aptly describing his masterful way of singing songs that makes you want to jump on the table and dance your heart away. He knows how to awaken your sleeping soul and convince it to awaken to his tunes, and throw your cares to the wind. Bryan's strong, sexy voice makes me feel like a teenager. Hey, I'm 59 and when I listen to his songs I feel like I'm 16 again. Whoo hoo, give me more! Sing your poems to me, Bryan!

Awesome album, great artist, love it
author: Amy Calmann
Bryan Master's new album is really fantastic, as good as his first cd, maybe better. I would highly recommend buying both. I love listening to the songs, in particular love "karmacide" and "find the words". Have seen him a bunch of times in NYC and he is really great live too. I hope everyone discovers his music.
