ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Hailing from San Diego, CA, The Material has catapulted into the national limelight of up-and-coming bands. With their debut EP release "Tomorrow", The Material has effectively attracted attention from multiple media outlets including television, internet, radio, and even video games.

Fans of The Material have made their presence known voting for The Material out of 4,000 bands to perform live on MTV's Dew Circuit Breakout, and by purchasing over 250,000 downloads to date of The Material's song "Moving to Seattle" on the video game Rock Band.

The Material has had songs featured on MTV's "The Hills", the WB's "Sorority Forever", and has had their video for the song "The Truth About Reality" featured on MTV2. In March 2010, The Material released a new single called "What Happens Next" which is now the opening theme song to the Australian Reality TV show "Freshwater Blue" which debuts December 2, 2010 on MTV.

With three national tours under their belt, The Material has created a huge underground following made up of extremely supportive fans. After touring the US and Canada last fall, The Material moved to Portland to write their new record. In June 2010 The Material teamed up with producer Brian Grider to record their debut full length album "What We Are" which will be released 1/11/11.

The band performed on two weeks of the 2010 Motel 6 "Rock Yourself To Sleep" Tour with Every Avenue, There for Tomorrow, Sing it Loud and The Secret Handshake. After returning from the Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour they played Warped Tour in San Diego and then followed up with a West Coast tour in September. The Material looks forward to the release of their new album and the CD release tour that will follow.
