Album Notes

The Matinees' second full-length release, Make The Leap, was conceived as an excuse to have fun collaborating with friends. The duo — Jaime Borschuk and PF Dumanis — began with a set of songs that maintained the stripped-down, low-key instrumentation and pensive, quirky writing style captured in their 2007 debut, Sleepy Seeds. They then paired up with Oakland-based producer/engineer Greg Ashley (Gris Gris) and brought in friends from bands including The Invisible Cities, Love Is Chemicals, Agent Ribbons, Silver Jews, Axton Kincaid, and Scrabbel. The result is a group of independently styled tracks made cohesive by its signature songwriting and vocal harmonies

Guest musicians:
Greg Ashley, Cody Hennesy, Nick Mirov, Jeff Hobbs, Dan Lee, Aya Nakamura, Chris Stroffolino, Lauren Wooley, Jennifer Daunt, Sadie Contini, Lauren Hess
