Album Notes

Matt Beem was born in the mid-1970s in the rural region of central New Hampshire.

Matt started playing drums in fourth grade as part of the elementary school band, and soon was politely asked to leave. Apparently, a strong urge to hit things does not a drummer make.

After six months of asking--

"Can I have a guitar mom? Can I have a guitar mom? MomcanIhaveaguitarmomcanIhaveaguitarmomomomomomomom
momomompleasepleasepleasecanIhaveaguitar!?!"

-- Matt's mom reluctantly bought him a Kent acoutic under the condition that he would submit to six month's of lessons.

Somehow the guitar worked out better than the drums, and we feel that this world is a better place for it.

Matt started writing songs in high school, played in bands in the years that followed, and eventually relocated to Arizona in 1997.

Following a quite personal and dramatic encounter with Christ at the age of 25, Matt has dedicated his energies to recording his life's journey through song, and to serving in churches as a worship team member and band leader.

From June of 2007 through October of 2008, Matt served as Directory of Contemporary Worship at Red Mountain United Methodist Church in Mesa, AZ. Matt now works as Director of Worship at New Hope Covenant Church in Peoria, AZ.

Matt will be entering Arizona State University as a junior in January, 2008 to complete a degree in Religion and Applied Ethics, with a minor in Philosophy.

Matt hopes to continue his education doing post-graduate work in theological studies.

His latest release, a double CD set entitled "Flesh" and "Blood", is available at his local concert events and directly throught his official webiste (see link below at left).

The CDs are receiving exciting reviews from those within the local community.

Never one to shy away from tough issues, Matt's songs explore the jagged and broken path that we are forced to navigate in this life, the everlating glory of the One who rescues and redeems, and almost every point in between.
