"As far back as I can remember, music was in my blood," says Matt Drywood. "To be able to make a record is just a dream come true!" Matt bought his first guitar by pawning the violin he received in his elementary school music class. While his parents were less than thrilled at the time, they have come to realize that this launched his songwriting career. His talents emerged almost explosively.
Always a poet, Matt’s work has been published in “Kairos”, a poetry and short-story periodical and several other magazines worldwide. He has won songwriting contests and continues to write music and record with various artists worldwide. It was a natural progression to focus his thoughts on music. Self-taught on the guitar, he wrote many songs before discovering the piano which he uses to accompany his folk-rock music.
This instrumental album reflects his acoustic guitar abilities and there will be other CD's to follow shortly. He has the amazing ability to learn any instrument necessary to express his thoughts.
"I love all kinds of music," Drywood explains. "I like to focus on the different instruments, and how the songs are mixed." Innovation and creation are words that describe Matt’s writing style; all his songs are characterized by an experimental instrumentation adaptation.
Matt’s lyrics are eternally poetic, his instrumentals soothing. They contain deep-lying spiritual messages that must be unraveled to fully understand his thoughts and feelings. This reflects his deep spiritual side and strong faith in GOD.
Matt Drywood is seeing the result of hard and persistent work. "I've always known that my music would make people happy, but I just wasn’t sure how to deliver it. The internet really makes things easier for artists" he remarks. "It's nice that everyone in my family really understands my need to pursue music. They love it as much as I do."
Drywood has frequented the local music scene, but now takes pleasure raising his family.
He has been involved in various benefit concerts and folk festivals raising money for the less fortunate. He has performed with several known bands and continues to surround himself with talented artists. The motivation behind Matt Drywood’s efforts is his desire for continuous improvement.

I have this CD and I have to say, for the work put in to it by just one guy, this is a fantastic CD. So very enjoyable and relaxing to listen to. We have a 3 year old and he likes to listen to music while going to sleep. After he heard this CD, it was his choice to now have this played in his CD player for bed time. We also play it during dinner to help set a nice mood.
I'm sure anyone getting this CD will enjoy the wonderful music.
