"Valentine" was written around 2006, by Matt Epp, and Alex Sannie (The Lytics). The two long-time friends had collaborated on Epp's skateboarding film titled 'Love Life' (2003), but this was the first of many songs that they would write together. The pair only semi-seriously formed a side-project called 'Rescue Motorboat!', under which a demo EP of Valentine and several other songs were released online to be enjoyed by the few that knew to look for them.

Epp and Sannie still haven't officially recorded or released their collaborative Rescue Motorboat! material, but Epp has played it live on occasion at his solo concerts. Valentine especially was an audience favorite for years, and now finally Matt Epp has recorded it in it's pure acoustic magic. Enjoy!
