Album Notes

Matt Gracie has been DJing and producing music since 1999. He has come a long way since his humble beginnings, and has found great success playing double duty as promoter and DJ. After gaining the respect of club owners, promoters, and clubbers alike by hosting, promoting and DJing parties over the past eight years, Matt has finally been able to return to his first love, producing music.

Matt’s hard work has landed him Toronto residencies at System Soundbar, Mad-Bar, Sugar, Roxy Blu, Film Lounge, Underbar, Byzantium, and Dragonfly. Performances at other venues include The Guvernment, Footwork, Afterlife, 5ive, ButterFly, Boa, and The Docks. Over the years, his sets have featured house, techno, trance, hip hop and R&B records, but he is most well known for his sexy, pounding, tribal and electro-tech house.

Matt has been fortunate enough to be lined up on the same bill with International talent such as Paul Oakenfold, Sasha, Kenneth Thomas, Mark Farina, DJ Demi, DJ Dan, Miss Honey Dijon, Cevin Fisher, Ferry Corsten, Stacey Pullen, Johnny Fiasco, DJ Dayhota, Roy Davis Jr., Danny Howells, Matt C, Mark Oliver and Deko-ze to name a few. Matt’s ability to adapt and the diversity of his sound have opened up many new doors for this focused and energetic performer, including being given the opportunity to play on the Main Stage in 2004,2006 and 2007 at one of the world’s biggest annual events, PRIDE. Matt has also volunteered his time with Oxfam Canada during the International Aids Conference, in August 2006, and September 2007 by assisting in the organizating and perfoming at the fundraising events, Music4Change.

Matt Gracie’s current focus is on the running of his own label, Unleash Recordings and his production. He has received praise from international DJ’s regarding his first 2 tribal/tech-house releases entitled, “You Just Know When It feels Right” and “I’m Not Good Enough?”
