Originally from rural North Carolina, Matthew Brookshire is a songwriter and performer based in Brooklyn, NY.

Matthew’s music can be heard in the Todd Solondz film "Palindromes", starring Ellen Barkin and Jennifer Jason Leigh, which played in the New York, Telluride, Venice and Toronto film festivals. He also contributed songs to the independent films "Violet Tendencies" and "Going Down in La-La Land". Matthew has written songs for other artists, including #1 Billboard dance artist Kevin Aviance. His acclaimed collaborations with modern dance choreographer Keely Garfield include "Eva Potranspiration/Cloud 9" and "Twin Pines".
