Album Notes

Friends,

Studying birds takes a considerable amount of time and patience. Often I have found myself playing with a melody, or scratching some lyrics next to my field notes. The result - four years later - is Bird Songs, a tasty collection of campfire favorites!

These songs are the artistic culmination of thousands of hours of field research. They were written and recorded in 7 different countries!

Bird Songs is printed with the birds in mind - the packing contains no plastic (besides the CD itself), is composed of recycled content, and is printed with soy-based inks.

For every copy of Bird Songs I sell, I will donate $1.00 directly to conservation programs dedicated to preserving and protecting threatened bird habitats. These projects will follow conservation plans developed by Partners in Flight (www.partnersinflight.com).

It is quite lovely. The kitties are rather smitten with it. The humans like to listen to it over dinner. It helps me forget that I have been shat upon by birds twice. Thank you for sharing!

"This CD automatically transports me back to the days of conducting fieldwork; where friendship was never hard to find, the sun was always shining and the joy and purpose of life was self-evident. Matt has a great ability to remind you that the beauty of life lies in the simple things. I am sure that on more than one occasion, you will catch me listening to this album on the porch with a big smile on my face……"
