This album represents the first release by Matt Marantz, a native of Dallas, Texas who performs regularly at venues throughout the US and abroad with artists ranging from Jonathan Batiste to Dr. Billy Taylor, as well as his own group. The CD features 11 original compositions which are performed by a stellar band comprised of pianist Sam Harris, guitarist Steve Cardenas (a regular member of both Charlie Haden's Liberation Music Orchestra and Paul Motian's Octet), bassists Martin Nevin and Ruben Samama, and drummer Michael Davis.
