Like an episode of "American Pickers," this CD is a dusty barn full of oddities reflective of the generous heap of 20th century American music, from folk to blues to jazz to rock, made vivid with spirited instrumentation and lyrical, suggestive wordplay.

Album Notes
Matt Robert plays an eclectic array of styles whose colors overlap into a cohesive weave. The unifying element is a stripped down approach, void of bells and whistles.

With an acoustic guitar, his voice, a mandolin, a harmonica, and occasional banjo, Matt delves into a crazy quilt of original tunes complemented by renditions of the artists who have inspired him since the early '70s - folks like Gus Cannon's Jug Stompers, Blind Blake, and Pink Anderson, as well as Jerry Garcia, Modest Mouse, and The Decemberists.

Matt Robert has performed throughout New England for 30 years in a series of local and regional acts, like Hat on, Drinking Wine and Flubber.
