Album Notes

Matt has a deep love for the Native American Flute and nature recording. He resides in Australia in the famous rainbow region of Northern New South Wales, the capital for alternative living, a beautiful sub tropical area in the Great DIviding Range, a short distance inland from Byron Bay - The most easterly point of the East Coast of Australia.

This area has an abundance of sacred places and wildlife to appreciate and enjoy. The mountain on the album Journey Over Mountains is called Wollumbin and is the most sacred mountain in all of Bundjulung Country, a vast Aboridginal teritory stretching many thousands of square kilometers. The mountain which once stood nearly 3 times it's current size is the largest extinct volcano in the Southern Hemisphere.

Matt was attracted to the Native American Flute after a very traumatic time in his life when he was seriously injured in an accident. Matt found new direction and healing though the Native American Flute and was able to fully heal himself. He now feels he owes this flute for the healing and changes it has helped him make so he represents it by performing, educating and gets the instrument out there to those who need it's medicine for thier healing by making finely crafted native American Style Flutes. He also has a great passion for personal growth and spiritual healing which he practices many forms. He believes music is one of the most healing arts of all and is fulfilling a dream by making music to brighten up the world.

Matt is very drawn to Indigenous music, cultures and custom, particularly the Native American Culture and Music and often travels overseas to conect with them and others on a similar journey. He is also very interested in Indigenous cultures and customs around the world. A fan of World Music, Matt is particularly attracted to the flute and studies, collects and plays all flutes from around the world as well as making many styles of flute for a living.
Matt is supported by his music and flute making which he does full time from his home in the Blackhorse valley NSW. When not making music or flutes he is enjoying the beauty of Australia and sharing time with those precious to him. His flutes trade under the name Spiritsong Flutes.
