Album Notes

Throughout my year of traveling and touring I've slept on quite a few couches. During this time it has become somewhat of a tradition for me to play a private house concert for my host as...well...rent. (Fine with me, it beats the hell out of yardwork) Nowhere has this scenario hapened more frequently than in Denver. No matter where I'm headed to, or from, I always seem to wind up crashing on JR's couch in Denver for a night or two. Last Spring, during one of the many impromptu sessions in JR's living room, he commented that out of all the shows he's seen me play, the intimate house "concerts" have always been his favorite. So we began to ask around and as it turns out, JR wasn't the only one who felt that way. It was then we decided to duplicate that experience so that those people without couches could enjoy that vibe as well. On July 31, 2005, we gutted JR's house, covered the place with giant pillows, invited 40 of our closest Denver friends, hired a recording engineer, and held a house concert. The expereince was truly magical. THis CD is a cross section of the songs recorded that day. It's raw, it's live, and it's not perfect...but hey, neither is your couch. Thanks for listening!!

After only 3 weeks, it's one of my favorite albums, and I've passed it on to a few friends. I got it off of Ryan, so I guess I owe you a drink or two. Keep it up!!

This is how we know Vrba. You can hear on the CD how comfortable he is on stage and how good he is at improv. Vrba says it the way you are feeling it and of course there is plenty of comic relief.
