Album Notes

This is the first collection of all original songs from veteran folk music performer, Matt Watroba. Matt is a radio host and producer as well as a freelance music writer and community song leader. With Shine Right Through The Dark, Matt continues his partnership with co-producer and sizzling sideman, David Mosher. Katie Geddes, Robert Jones and Theresa Smith provide spine-tingling harmonies to round out the perfect follow-up to Matt's nod to classic country, Jukebox Folk. Shine Right Through The Dark includes the stage favorite "They Used To Play Baseball Here," a tribute to Detroit's Tiger Stadium, but really a lament for the neighborhood that was left behind. Also included is the wedding song, "On This Day," which has the potential of replacing the standard songs sung at just about every wedding. The title cut was written after a weekend of performing at MLK events. The result is a powerful tribute to Dr. King worthy of Sweet Honey In The Rock! Matt would love for you to get this record, learn the songs and sing them for others.
