Album Notes

“Simply sensational.” Bob Collins, jazz producer WRHU

“Matt’s music is far beyond his youthful years, very sophisticated, and complex, yet extremely accessible. Look for a very bright future for Mr. Wigler." Bob Putignano, President, New York Jazz and Blues Society and WFDU host

“Exceptional CD…not only the quality of music but the CD as a package shows Matt’s talent and versatility.” Charles Boyer, Publisher, Jazz Blues Florida

“Matt has a maturity and depth of ideas well beyond his age. There is an old soul in there; one that is a really great piano player.” Scott Ambush, Spyro Gyra bassist and bassist on Epiphony

This is what critics are saying about this gifted, young artist's second CD. Matt Wigler, 15-year-old jazz and blues pianist, organist and composer, began playing piano at age five, and even then revealed his talent for improvisation. At age eight, Matt met a musician at a camp who introduced him to jazz and blues, and that is when he discovered his passion.

Matt has played at festivals throughout the US and Canada, including the Monterey Blues Festival (CA), Beaches International Jazz Festival (Toronto), Telluride Jazz Festival (CO), North Atlantic Blues Festival (ME), and ArtScape (MD).
Matt has appeared with many notables including Buckwheat Zydeco, Deanna Bogart, Marcia Ball, Tommy Castro, Tab Benoit, and Hod O'Brien. Matt has also opened for blues guitar greats Buddy Guy and Joe Bonamassa.
