notes
These are 24 of the original songs composed by the band members that appeared on the five studio albums originally released on WAGON TRACKS RECORDS under the name: "CHUCK WAGON AND THE WHEELS" between 1978 and 1982.... ah...wait a minute... Track #24, "JOHNNY HAD SEX (with a chicken)", did not appear on any "CHUCK WAGON AND THE WHEELS" albums, so it's a bonus track (so to speak). "JOHNNY HAD SEX"' is an ERIC(Guitarist)MELLEN solo product and he graciously allowed it's inclusion on this collection... "DISCO SUCKS" is still enshrined at #10 on DR. DEMENTO'S TOP 25 FUNNY SONGS of 1979! .....AWW GEEZ, I'm way too lazy to copy all the reviews and articles pertaining to these songs, so just go to the other CD BABY page (THE BEST and/or WORST OF CHUCK MAULTSBY AND HIS OLD BAND) or the website (www.chuckmaultsby.com) to check out all that sort of thing. This collection was released due to popular demand!...Over a dozen people asked for this, so here you go! ALSO, you may be pleased to know that all proceeds from sales of this cd will go directly to Red Hot Women, Ice Cold Beer, and the Humboldt County California Growers Association (HCCGA). So crack open a cold one, light a fat one, and enjoy some music from an era when drunk driving was still a sport, Aids was unheard of, and the War was over!..... And do listen to the wind, because you may hear of the "OLD BAND" getting together sometime for a gig in a town near you! This cd is dedicated to the memory of the memories we are all trying to remember! Stay tuned for more releases on WAGON TRACKS RECORDS! Happy Trails to You....Until we meet again! Chuck "Wagon" Maultsby...Tucson, Arizona, U.S. of A.

Chuck Wagon 24 originals
author: AmyLOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT. Takes me back to the early 80's I was young, single and totally went nuts when the band would come to Phoenix. Sure wish they would put their albums on cd's. Thanks for the laughs and memories.

author: kurt klosiewskiI moved to Tucson, from Milwaukee 4 years ago. Since then I have come to regret that I was not born here. Then through a friend I learned about Chuck and his wagon wheels. Now I really regret not being born here and experiencing the hey day of this group. How great it must have been to see these guys when they started their career in Tucson. All I can do now is go see them when they do play locally (which isn't enough!) and play their CD's all the time! I can't get enough of these guy's !! See ya Sept 13th at the La Gitana Cantina Chuck, can't wait Kurt
Awesome Cd
author: Rick CarvaoIt was great listening to the old Chuck Wagon And The Wheels on cd. You should release the original albums on cd.
Keep em coming!
author: blairChuck did it again! Between the 2 cd's he has almost all of the great Chuck Wagon and the Wheels songs. Chuck, isn't it about time for a reunion show? There's enough of us that remember "the Wheels" . Dig into the vault and come up with some more treasures!
I was hoping it could be possible, amen
author: RaymondA good friend on the internet sent me an email which said "Guess What I Found?" And then I ordered the CD. It brought back many happy memories for me and the guys at work. Good things never die, just go away for awhile, then come back to surprize us. Ray from Tucson,AZ
Excellent CD!!! Great dancin' music
author: JennyIt's great to hear these songs again. What's great about this band -is everything, the musicians, the vocals, the tunes and the lyrics. The live cuts on the "Best and Worst" remind me of the great times when Chuck Wagon and the Wheels would pack the Olympic in Boulder, Colorado!
This CD brings it ALL back!
author: ScottWhat a great CD! It's about time we have all our favorites on CD. This and the other CD(worst of) makes me feel like I'm in college again (except there is no hangover included in the CD). Chuck Wagon for president!
GREAT CD! Looking forward to all the old band's music on CD's!!
author: ShirleyThis CD brought back great memories of the old band in Colorado! It's great to have these songs again after the vinyl's have seen there better days. Keep on Keepin' on!! See you soon for another Rocky Mountain High?
Finally on CD, Tucson's GREAT Western Swing band
author: Baja ArizonaThe great thing about Chuck Wagon and The Wheels (these guys, the original band--not the fakers who did "Off The Top Rope") is that they had fun songs that were backed up with great Western Swing musicianship. This band owned Tucson and mad a big name for themselves in the West and Southwest. This is a nice cross section of their music. It's all the things I like about Asleep At The Wheel and Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen...great music, clever lyrics, and it really does swing. A good Chuck Wagon and The Wheels retrospectives hits their Western Swing, Country Rock, and clever lyrics and this touches on all of it. These guys still sound great today nearly 30 years after they rolled in and lit up Tucson for over half a decade. This is one of two "best of" CDs that picked up songs from their five studio albums and rumor has it there's a live release in the works.
Excellent
author: MoosemonEXCELLENT! I'd still love to see Chuck release each of their old albums on CD, especially Red Hot Women and Ice Cold Beer!
WELL HELL!! IF NOBODY ELSE WILL!!!!
author: CHUCK "WAGON" HISSELF!Well...this is a fine thang....ain't nobody sayin nuthin bout the musick here.....Hell! "CAUGHT YOU WITH YOUR PANTS DOWN" was reel poplar durin the Clinton-Monika thang!! An everbody wuz "Talking About Cocaine" 25 years ago! An "SONORAN BUST" is a musical documentary about an arrest and detainment in the Mexican state of SONORA...an "HELL WRANGLERS" is just the point of view of the GHOST RIDERS IN THE SKY...an any self respecktin long-haul trucker would like "18 WHEELS TURNING"...an "JOHNNY HAD SEX (with a chicken)" is just a right of passage fer mos' farm boys (disterbin as it may seem)....an there ain't no country song more de-pressin than "LOWDOWN AND DIRTY".....GEEZ LOUISE! I'm re-dueced ta wratin my own dadgumm re-vues!! So...ta be fair an square...I'll only give 'er One dang star....No Respeckt! I dont git no friggin' Respeckt I tell Ya!!!!
