"I'm an instant fan. There's heart & soul in this voice... A prosperous future to one and all." Bob Oermann named Maura his female DISCovery award winner. "A timeless voice". If Aimee Mann and Patsy Cline could conceive a child it would be Maura Fogarty.

2006 Independent Music Award Best Album - Americana
Maura Fogarty's second solo album Every Now And Then was released July 25th, 2003.
.
In anticipation of another great record, Maura's first record "color of my heart" was awarded new female DISCovery winner by the famed and respected Nashville critic, Bob Oermann of Music Row Magazine.
Track #2, Under My Skin was also featured on the 100th episode of Dawson's Creek.
Going to a more roots based - acoustic sound, Fogarty and her producing and writing partner John Bertsche rounded up Nashville players, Bryan Sutton, John Gardner, Larry Franklin, John Mock, John and Bruce Bouton who by the way co-produced the Nashville sessions, and began making the record.
The recording ended back here in New York with sessions from the amazing Joannie Madden, and All-Ireland uillean piper Matty Connolly.
Also being one of the featured musicians on the record, Maura plays acoustic and electric rythym guitar, backpacker and the accordian.
As well as the material that Maura and Bertsche co- wrote, collaborations include original songs by Fogarty and #1 country producer, songwriter and grammy award winning instrumentalist, Randy Scruggs and #1 country songwriter Sonny Tillis, both the sons of the Nashville legends, Earl Scruggs and Mel Tillis.
Every Now and Then also contains two original songs which included the help of Texan-born, New York based songwriter Christine Love.
Taking 11 months to complete this record, promoting the record is where the focus lands. Heading into the fall, Fogarty will be putting a band together for shows in New York and Nashville, and will begin doing solo vocal and acoustic guitar radio promotion in the U.S. as well as in Ireland and Great Britain.
Shortly after arriving in Nashville, Maura was very quickly signed to a production and publishing deal with Randy Scruggs Music. After spending a few years with Scruggs, legendary producer and publisher Harold Shedd signed her on. Maura currently is a writer for Matt Lindsey Music in Nashville.

Friends and I heard Maura sing at a great music bar/club in the Bronx, "Dr. Gilbert's Cafe" and they picked up the tab so I got them this disk and everybody is very happy and enjoying the music and good memories.

Usually on an album there are songs I love and some I don't particularly care for. With Maura, there are songs I love and songs I really love. This CD is chock-full of moving, heartfelt songs sung with passion and understanding by a woman of amazing songwriting and vocal talent. If you buy it, you won't be sorry.

4 Copies And Counting!
author: Ed Hagan
I am about to order my fourth copy of this CD and somehow I feel that will not be last. The reason for this is that when I play it for family and friends they rave about it and say they have to add it to their collection! Maura is a tremendous singer and songwriter. She combines a number of influences, be it Ruth Brown's "teardrop in her voice" or the sound of Patsy Cline. Her songwriting is first-rate and her interpretation of "Shores of Amerikay" is stunning. Congratulations, Maura!

Just beautiful!

A great CD for every mood; the songs pick you up where you are, no matter if you're happy or sad at the moment, and Maura's voice moves you deep inside. The CD's a great mixture of country, pop and folk. I'd recommend it to everybody who likes these genres or simply loves listening to meaningful music.
