ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Quirk: Music for Clarinet and Electronics serves as a snapshot of the current tendencies and ideas prevalent in American electronic music today. This album brings together popular genres, abstract sounds and a multitude of musical influences. Eric Honour incorporates hip-hop beats while Sarah Horick mixes jazz and pop harmonies with a driving beat along with an improvisation by the performer. Andrew Cole uses rock grooves and heavy distortion, and Asha Srinivasan pays homage to her heritage using classical Indian music as a source. Jorge Sosa draws from elements of Gregorian Chant, while Christopher Biggs and Jason Bolte create free abstract sounds. This is a quirky mix that will bend your ear in unusual ways.
