...This CD is a 'tribute to contemporary Greek composers, who increasingly honor the saxophone with works worthly of the international repertoire'... Stathis Mavrommatis performs on both the soprano and alto saxophones on this CD.His tone is warm and passionate with a judicious and excellent use of vibrato. His technique is precise and very clean. One of the most impressive aspects of his playing is his ability to spin the melodic line into thoughtful fantasies that sweep up the listener. ...This CD is a definite must have recording of exciting new music for saxophone.
