"It's clear these folks are having a helluva time." The New Yorker
"…a truly unique blend of guitar licks and operatic vocals that send adrenaline coursing through your veins and makes for instant entertainment." Atomic Magazine
The Maxes serve up a hot dish of original mod-groovy beats, rockabilly and blues riffs, soaring harmonies, melodies you can sing and lyrics influenced by classic American songwriters. In the few years since they formed, the Manhattan-based Maxes have quickly gone from gigging at local bars and coffee shops to hundreds of shows at top nightclubs, colleges, private social events and other venues as well as performing internationally with some of America's most well-known acts. In 2005, The Maxes headlined a show at Central Park Summerstage with an 18-piece orchestra. Their debut album, "Make It Snappy", has sold over 12,000 independent copies since its release in the USA and in the former Soviet Union.
"The Maxes" is a 12-song collection of fun, kaleidoscopic late 60’s-influenced pop.
