Space Hermit is a ride on a rocket ship through the galaxies of bluegrass. As we land on one of reggae's near moons, the hatch opens to the fresh sounds of African percussion, mandolin, and acoustic guitar driven pop songs.

The toe tappingly comfortable melody in Freeman could make Merle Haggard smile, but the filters, organs, and dinosaur sound of Spanikopita and Baklava might make him leave the room.

Traditional acoustic instrumentation joins forces with some sharp songwriting. Max has stolen some of Lee Scratch Perry's tools and built a tiny castle on mars where upbeats and baritone vocals reign supreme.
